Nordic Gender Equality – Promising Practices
Cecilie is the Danish partner in the Nordic network. During the past few years, the question of gender equality in schools and preschools has received a lot of attention especially in Nordic countries. Reason for this lies in the overall development in Nordic societies that has caused pressure to update Gender Equality Laws to cover equality and equity in schools.
Changes in legislation create pressure for educational professional to develop their practices. There is a need for practical knowledge of gender equality and diversity work at schools and kindergartens. Our project on promising Nordic practices provides a strong support for gender equality work within schools and kindergartens and enhances Nordic competence building in this area. Practices in Nordic countries as well as within a country vary to a certain extent and we have a good opportunity to learn from each other.
This site promotes Nordic collaboration on Gender Equality and diversity work and works as a gateway to learn about promising Nordic practices in equality and diversity work. The project is funded by Nordic Council of Ministers.
Nordic Gender Equality – Promising Practices is a collaboration between Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Greenland and Iceland. The project is funded by Nordic Council of Ministers and coordinated by Women’s and Gender Studies in the University of Oulu, Finland.
